This will be controversial, but the Spear's new charge mechanic is convoluted and doesn't fit the combat system.
I'm referring to the 'weight system' of the charge mechanic; where charge attacks turn weaker on prolonged charges.
There are plenty of needless drawbacks that comes from this-- none of which necessarily translates to a 'higher skill ceiling' for the weapon.
- The 'weight system' is wholly and needlessly unintuitive AND awkward to use, an issue that's exacerbated with newer Players in a game where something as simple as an attack cooldown is already an issue to learn about.
- The force-dismount ability of a full-force charge attack serves nothing but to make Horseback or mounted use of Spears in general significantly much weaker compared to using Spears with Elytras or even just Sprinting and Boats.
- The lack of knockback on a prolonged charge attack just makes the weapon feels bad to use, especially when most mounts except Camels will force the user of the Spear to take damage, especially from mobs.
- The animation of the Spears in general, but especially the charge attack when it weakens looks way too fluid; making look even more out of place, this is especially obvious when compared to Brushes.
Suggestion: Simplify the mechanic, there's no need to convolute it.
- Remove the different charge attacks, it should always Knockback and no dismounts.
- Give it a traditional cooldown like Shields after letting go of the use button.
- Change the animation to be more snappy.
