With mojangs renewed focus on the oceans and the addition of a new undead mob, it would be fitting to add an "undead sea", a play on the dead sea and a spotlight on a real environmental danger.
The surface of the "undead sea" would be covered with algal bloom. The visibility would be a mirky green, with zombie microbes floating in the water. Undead monsters would spawn only to add danger to the biome.
You may be wondering "why" would this biome exist?
Within this biome, as the bloom is cleared, the undersea mobs return and a special rare variant of the nautilus could accompany them.
This would be the first large scale environmental restoration project actively encouraged within the game. Players would make use of their nautilus, and build their underwater conservation base to supplement this effort.
Players would be encouraged to clear the algal bloom, bringing life into the undead sea and possibly new water top or water based plants bloom, brought in by the migrating fish.
Undead mobs within the biome are restricted to only spawning beneath the bloom, also giving players a safe haven to expand their underwater base, and build their nautilus courses without being disturbed by nautilus jockeys.
