Spears should have longer range than swords

I think that in the same way that the charge attack has it's unique property of damage depending on how fast you're going, the jab attack should have a slightly longer range than other weapons to give it that true new value that it deserves.

    Yes! I'd love to see that, hopefully they add the functionality in a snapshot or beta/preview.

    if Mojang doesn't do this they're idiots, I'm sorry to all the Devs who are reading this, but I had to state the facts, it should obviously have more range because it's longer than any other melee weapons in the game

    Yes, the spear will not quite become a combat game changer unless it has increased range. The jousting attack is cool and all, but its not gonna change combat a whole lot unless you happen to have a mount on hand.
