Frozen Oceans in Minecraft Bedrock were very unique compared to their Java counterpart. In Bedrock, the whole top player of water was replaced with a flat, even layer of Ice. Because the flat Ice surface was very prominent, traversal through this biome was very fun as you could go ice Boating at high speeds. In fact, this fun biome-specific activity was even shown off in the September 2025 Minecraft Live at 22:41, and the "Minecraft's Visual Refresh" video at 1:25.
Unfortunately in Bedrock Beta & Preview 1.21.100.20, this exclusive feature was removed from Bedrock without consulting the community like many other Bedrock exclusives as of late.
I would like to see Bedrock's style of Frozen Ocean return as its own biome in "Mounts of Mayhem" for both Bedrock and Java. Not only would this allow players to go ice Boating once again, but it would also make it possible to go boat jousting with our friends in this biome, just like the team did in the Minecraft Live showcase.
