Make the Spear Throwable like the Trident

Don't you think that since Tridents are like three pronged spears and can be thrown, that spears should be throwable too? It would make a lot of sense.

    I think they should be separate weapons, each are supposed to serve a unique purpose

    yes plz spears are just as much of a ranged weapon as a melee weapon in history it would be so stupid to not have the spear be throwable plz for the love of not being brain dead make spears throwable.

    It makes sense. Spears should be able to be enchanted with loyalty too, but keep Channeling and Riptide trident exclusive, and don't put the trident's water range on the spear. That way, the Trident stays more of a tool and niche sidegrade for underwater combat, since that's what it's mainly used for right now anyway.

    This would just make the Trident even more useless than it already is, considering how hard it is to obtain on Java. With the Combat Test Snapshots (aka Combat update); which were the only saving graces of the Trident being most likely dead, making the Spear throwable would just kill the Trident even more.

    If loyalty is not allowed than the spear could drop when the mob is killed. But will recieve a larger amount of durability damage.

    The spear could make a bigger impact depending on how fast it is thrown, prehaps a new enchantment that makes the spear quicker.

    To throw it the user should charge it while facing upward slightly.

    Spears should be able to be fired by dispensers and crossbows, dealing more damage the faster the spear projectile is.

    Agree,But spears cannot be enchanted with Loyalty (only tridents can).

    Romans legions throw they spears at enemy and then use they mele weapon
