Redesign zombie nautilus to be a reanimated shell

Instead of just making It green and slimy, it'd be awesome to lean into how the Zombie Nautilus' shell would function. what if the Nautilus had died and rotted away or abandoned the shell and the zombie Nautilus is just the empty shell itself chasing you?

    No that doesnt make sense.. First off the nautilus and their shells are attached. Secondly how would the shell move by itself? It would just be a fossil.

    The drowned have the shells because they came from the nautilus they rode.

    I however do think the zombie nautilus could have a few cracks to give them a more injured and dead appearance.

    Lowkey would be a cool idea, make it more strange like having glowing eyes dotted throughout the shell where there's cracks.
