You should preserve momentum when going through nether portal in a boat

I have an ice boat highway in my nether and it's REALLY nice that it lets me portal instantly. I love it. I just think it would be really fun to zoom into the portal at full speed and come out the other end STILL at full speed, rather than just kinda flopping out. My other portal is on the ocean so it would be especially nice to shoot out and land gracefully in the water.
