I understand that it's now possible to create biomes and new tints using data packs... but I want to be able to create trees of any colour in any biome, not just because a tint allows it. Furthermore, I'm not a modder, and do not intend to become one. I have played on the same vanilla world for over 6 years and want to bring some magic to it, for example by creating Jacaranda trees, red, orange and yellow trees, magical forests with trees that have stunning blue leaves... etc. etc. Or even better, I'd like to be able to dye them using glow ink... now wouldn't that be a sight to behold? Giant glowing golden trees that light up the surrounding areas and protect from mobs, all whilst creating a truly atmospheric night? And if you could do the same with grass, you could create some truly unique biomes and landscapes - purple trees with golden grass, blue trees on pink grass, spooky black biomes, glowing green grass with glowing green trees that make it look radioactive... And last but not least, throw in the ability to dye resin clumps and you literally have yourself aesthetic fruit trees, glowing decorative cave ores, beautiful patterned wallpaper, and unique "flowers" if you place it on the ground - and these could also be used to light up a magical forest (should you wish to make one).
Regarding resin, dyed clumps could then also be crafted into dyed resin blocks and bricks... and would look lovely when paired with concrete and other flat coloured blocks.
