I propose a third terrifying creature for Minecraft, inspired by the game’s old myths and added in a fully vanilla way, creating an experience only the bravest players would face: the Stalker.
Like the Phantom, the Stalker is tied to the insomnia system, appearing when the player goes multiple days without sleeping. However, its arrival is slower, more disturbing, and ultimately unavoidable.
The Stalker only fully appears after 10 days without sleep, but before that, players begin to experience signs and hallucinations. These do not affect gameplay directly, but make the experience far more tense.
During the first three days, everything is normal. From the third day onward, Phantoms spawn as usual, along with new, unsettling cave sounds.
From day six, specters begin to appear—floating humanoid figures that fly, pass through walls, and attack the player. Their numbers increase over time. Hallucinations also intensify, including distorted or invisible inventory items, fake footsteps, block-breaking sounds, and even Creeper hisses with no real danger.
On day nine, players may hear strange noises and see white glowing eyes in the dark.
On day ten, the Stalker appears but only watches from a distance.
On day eleven, it begins its hunt. The Stalker is fast, unstoppable, breaks blocks, climbs, and is immune to all damage. When it reaches the player, it instantly kills them.
It spawns in dark areas within 50 blocks. Sleeping or dying resets the cycle.
