Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Redstone Sundial Block

I would love to have a redstone sundial block, which emits a signal strength according to the time of day; plus a 'moondial' for the night-time.

0 = none, 1 = sunrise, 16 = sunset. Or 'moonrise' and 'moonset' for the moon.

That would give a total of 30 'hours' in the day, but who's to say how minecraft worlds measure time?

Applications? Working clocks, timepieces or time related redstone devices that trigger at specific times of the day i.e. at a specific signal strength.
