Java Edition deserves official documentation and GitHub samples for datapacks and resource packs, just like Bedrock Edition already has.
Right now, Java creators face these problems:
1. No official reference – Information is scattered across community wikis and third-party tools, many outdated.
2. Frequent version changes – Each update changes pack_format, NBT, commands, and syntax. Without official migration guides, creators constantly struggle.
3. Heavy reliance on community – While the community is creative, Mojang/Microsoft should provide clear, updated samples.
Suggested solution:
Create an official GitHub repo (e.g. java-samples) with example datapacks and resource packs (correct pack_format per version).
Include sample functions, recipes, loot tables, predicates, and advancements.
Publish official migration guides for version updates.
Maintain a clear documentation page listing what Java datapacks/resource packs can or cannot do in vanilla.
Why this matters:
Helps new creators learn without frustration.
Provides one standard reference for developers.
Keeps tutorials and AI tools up to date.
Shows that Mojang/Microsoft supports Java creators equally with Bedrock.
Java Edition is the foundation of Minecraft. It deserves the same level of official support.
