Currently, sugar in Minecraft is always white. In real life, raw sugar from sugar cane is brown, and white sugar is created after refining.
I suggest adding a new item: Brown Sugar, crafted directly from sugar cane. To get White Sugar (the current sugar), players could put Brown Sugar into a cauldron with water over a heat source (fire or lava).
Both Brown and White Sugar could be used in food recipes (cake, pumpkin pie), but the appearance of the resulting food would change depending on the sugar used.
Food made with Brown Sugar could restore slightly less hunger than food made with White Sugar.
Only White Sugar could be used in brewing potions.
The cauldron could lose water levels after each use, and small visual effects like bubbles or steam could be added.
This adds realism, gives new uses for cauldrons, adds visual variety to food, and creates simple, intuitive mechanics without affecting game balance. (There may be linguistic errors in the words, be careful about that)
