A new block that can be found in clumps in the sea floor, similar to how clay spawns in rivers.
I believe having a wax item would help make waxing blocks a clearer mechanic to new players as opposed to honeycomb being the only choice. However, since wax would be difficult to obtain (mining at sea floor) and non-farmable, using honeycomb may still be preferable for many players. This would also help raise awareness for oil gathering in the ocean, since lots of wax is made of petroleum. Having honeycomb as a more environmentally-friendly while also mechanically easier to get a lot of fits the direction of Minecraft.
Wax could also be slippery like ice, allowing for a more solid, slippery option for ice boat roads or other builds. Perhaps even wax layers, like carpets, could add slight wax drips to blocks it sits on for decoration.
