Dimming beacons

Beacons are great-we all love those boosts-but sometimes they can really interfere with the look of a build. My proposed idea is that putting tinted glass over a beacon dims the beacon's light, eventually to the point where the beacon's light is no longer visible after 4 or 5 tinted glass blocks. Each additional block would dim the beacon further.
