Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Iridescent blocks for decoration, opal, bismuth hopper crystals

Blocks which change color based on direction the player is facing. These would only need 2 textures minimum, but more textures could be more visually entertaining. Examples include: opal, bismuth hopper crystals, crystal balls (which could be dyed/stained glass textures with subtle color pixels), and other iridescent materials. These could also be spent in enchanting tables for new, powerful, unique enchantments.

    If they got implemented like diamonds, emeralds or lapis, maybe use them on armor trims to get "rainbow" color trims.

    I think End Dimension is a good place for these new blocks.

    I like this idea, but I think they need more interactions with other blocks or features.

    True. Also I'm not convinced with the enchanting idea but still would be cool! Maybe if someone could come up with more ideas to make it more useful...
