Add controller support to Minecraft: Java edition

I played Minecraft on my PlayStation 4, and then PlayStation 5 when that console came out for many years, so I tend to prefer using a controller to play. Nowadays, my brother is the one who uses the PlayStation account and I play on my laptop, which is great because bedrock for laptop still contains controller support, BUT I also own java edition on my laptop and occasionally I like to play on java exclusive servers with my friends, which is fun so I'd like to do that more often, but the lack of controller support makes it REALLY hard to get into and a real struggle to play more competitive style things.

I'm sure adding controller support would allow for more java players.

    I made the switch from console to Mac, have to keep waiting for controller supports to be updated to play the newest versions and snapshots.
    Im unable to play for more than about 15 minutes with Keyboard and Mouse as I have wrist issues. Controller is my only option for lengthy continuous gameplay.

    Controller support would be incredibly helpful for console players who want to play Java edition instead of bedrock. Please, Mojang. Please find a way to add it.

    theres a mod called controlify on curseforge that adds controller support but not on the latest versions, plus it also doesnt work on servers like hypixel.
