Suggestion for a new tool: Quake Hammer

I know that a hammer tool has been suggested in the past, but I have some ideas on how this tool could be more valuable for the Minecraft community:

• Tool name: Quake Hammer
• Main use: defend from enemies from a distance
• How it works: a Thor-like hammer. I'd use the Quake Hammer and hit the ground when I see Creepers, Zombies or Skeletons coming my way. The quake would be aimed at them and the enemies would fall and be incapacitated, especially if the distance is not very large.
