So, people have always wanted biomes like the Savanna and the Desert to get upgraded. Fair enough. But I think one of the most simple biomes in Minecraft needs an update: The Plains! BTW: You can split this across multiple drops for more effectiveness (if needed).
So, in real life, plains are usually flat areas with an average amount of wildlife. Start by making them flat again! Plains have too much layers, and it isn't very realistic. So make it. Next, we need more mobs. I think ants and hummingbirds would be nice fitting mobs. Ants could work similar to bees, having an anthill block as their home. Ants could be tamed using Termites (an item you could get by using a shovel on an Anthill). Termites can be placed down, summoning the mob version. Wild ants will hunt Termites on sight. When an Ant is tamed, it will be able to transport food items it finds to the anthill. It's useful for farms. It will automatically break Melons, Cakes, and Pumpkins (non-sheared), and will pick up any food item. The will take the food to their Anthill, which the player who tamed the ant will be able to access. Now, Hummingbirds won't be a gimmick, more of an ambience mob. It's tempted with seeds, which can also breed them. It will come in five colours: Pink, Blue, Red, White, and Yellow. Back to Ants, there will be anthills in the Nether called Fire Anthills. And they have fireants, which are hostile to the player unless tamed with Termites (which you cannot get from Fire Anthills)
