Suggestion for Modifying the Properties of Copper Tools and Armor

I’m QUITE DISSATISFIED with the properties of copper tools and armor. I don’t think they should be OPTIONAL transitional items between stone and iron—because if they’re OPTIONAL, most players will INEVITABLY ignore them.
 
My suggestion is to adjust the basic attributes of some existing tools and armor. For instance, after the changes, iron ore—originally mineable with a stone pickaxe—would require a copper pickaxe instead. Additionally, I propose removing chain armor (as it feels rather underutilized) and reassigning its stats to copper armor.

    I like the idea of making copper obligatory to get to iron but i think chain armor should be kept because it's rare and that makes it a bit of a challenge to get wich i think it's fun

    I think the chain should be kept but yeah totally make copper equipment more obligatory because if it's not that hard to get iron people will eventually lose interest and not use the copper stuff

    I disagree  personlly I almost never have iron and wen I do I wound up making flint and steals shears and buckets and I always have tons of copper tho

    Ok makes sense but the copper for iron would confuse Minecraft veterans

    You can find buttloads of iron in caves. Any cave. Giant caves, medium caves, or even the little ones you find scattered around. I've actually gotten enough iron for armor, weapons, tools, and then some just in those little ones.
