The food system really needs some work done. The specific stats for hunger and saturation are up in the air, but here are a few ideas of mine for a more detailed food and cooking system:
-Hunger and saturation rebalances are needed to make some food more viable (like beetroot soup), especially with what I have in mind.
-Add Leek, a stand-in for onions and garlic. Grows like Wheat (meaning it requires watered farmland).
-Add Rice. Needs to be planted in water.
-Add Salad, a good option for people who want to play without consuming meat.
-Add Tomato Plants. Needs farmland to grow, but grows up to two blocks high. A single click drops 1-3 tomatoes, which give little hunger and saturation, but can be eaten twice as fast (like dried kelp).
-Advanced food recipies. My goal is to give each 'advanced' food its own unique identity.
Combining bread, meat, salad and tomatoes will craft a sandwich, with high hunger and saturation.
Rice, dried kelp, and fish meat will craft several sushi, which give medium-low hunger and low saturation, but can be eaten twice as fast.
Salads can be combined with tomatoes and leek to make a single salad bowl, but adding potatoes, carrots, mushrooms or beetroot will result in more salad crafted.
A bucket of water and a bowl can be combined with leek, carrots and/or potatoes to craft soup.
If we count wheat as a stand-in for dough, we can combine wheat, tomatoes and leeks to craft pizza. It would be cool if we can place pizza like cake and eat slices off it one by one.
