Hello Mojang team,
I’m a dedicated Minecraft Bedrock player on ChromeOS, and I (along with many others) would love to see Vibrant Visuals supported on Chromebooks.
Currently, the feature is missing entirely for ChromeOS players, even though:
-
Minecraft for ChromeOS runs smoothly on modern hardware (Intel/ARM CPUs with decent integrated GPUs).
-
Many Chromebooks now ship with powerful processors and graphics that can handle more demanding games and rendering effects.
-
ChromeOS devices support Android apps, Vulkan, and OpenGL — modern APIs capable of advanced visual effects.
We understand Vibrant Visuals is built with DirectX 12 Ultimate in mind, but there may be alternative render paths (via Vulkan or OpenGL) that could bring at least part of the experience to ChromeOS players.
Minecraft is about creativity and inclusion — leaving out an entire platform from one of the most exciting recent features feels limiting. We don’t expect every Chromebook to run it at max settings, but many modern models can handle it with ease.
Please consider adding official ChromeOS support for Vibrant Visuals, or at least allowing it on supported hardware configurations. This would bring joy to thousands of Chromebook players who want the same immersive experience as others.
Let’s make Minecraft beautiful for all players, no matter their device.
Thank you for your time and for continuing to improve the game we love!
