Hot take: Minecraft is too easy. Any damage you take is quickly regened, making most healing items useless, except Golden Apples, which are too OP. PvP is way too drawn out. My suggestion to this is changes to the healing system. Health regen should be very slow or non-existent. However, there would still be ways to heal. Sleeping would regen some hearts. Eating dessert foods could also heal the player, but be dependent on how much hunger they have (e.g., let's say a pumpkin pie heals 2 hearts and 4 shanks. If you are at 8 shanks, since you only needed 2 shanks, you only utilized half the pie, so you would heal 1 heart). Remove the regen effect from suspicious stew to avoid overuse. Healing potions should be cheap, stackable and very fast to drink, giving them an advantage over golden apples. Regen pots would be especially powerful. This would come together not only making healing and combat more interesting and give neglected potions and desserts a use, but also open the doors for other interesting healing methods.
