I’m experiencing severe overheating and battery drain when playing Minecraft on my iPad Air M2 (latest iPadOS, all updates installed).
Even with all in-game settings lowered (5 chunks render distance, graphics turned off, particles minimized, low brightness, Low Power Mode enabled), the device starts to heat up rapidly within minutes of launching the game. The battery drops fast too.
Interestingly, other heavier games like PUBG Mobile and Roblox do not cause any noticeable heat or fast battery loss, which suggests this issue is specific to Minecraft’s optimization on the M2 chip.
Once I exit Minecraft, the iPad cools down to normal within 3–4 minutes.
Please investigate this issue and consider optimizing Minecraft for iPads with the M2 chip. Thank you!
