Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Both lantern types should be able to use all types of torches

Simply put, iron and copper lantern should be able to have a torch, soul torch, copper torch or redstone torch inside.

It would allow for great building possibilities, because of the ability to mix and match casing and light. Redstone lanterns would be amazing for more gloomy ambiances, with its ominous red tint and low light level. But it would also be a nice redstone component, acting like a redstone torch you can place on ceilings and would only power its sides and underside.

And, moreover, powering a redstone lantern would allow us to have unlit lanterns, which is a nice implementation of the feedback I've seen in the past.

This would also increase the consistency betweem lanterns and torches
