Most players have progressed to iron tools and armour quite quickly, however most players will then wait until they have completed extensive mining before upgrading from a full set of iron to diamond. Recently the 'no armour straight to full iron armour' issue has been fixed in the form of an optional copper armour tier, however between iron and diamond there is no such tier. I propose Red Gold, which is 75% gold and 25% copper. The crafting recipe would be 3 gold ingots and 1 copper ingot and would yield 2 or 3 red gold ingots. They could be used to craft tools, armour, horse armour and blocks. Tools would have a durability somewhere in the range of 400-550, a mining speed similar to iron and the armour would be 16-17 points (8-8.5 armour bars on the screen).
Piglins would be hostile to the player unless they were wearing a full set of Red Gold armour, to not take away from gold armour's pacifying effect with just a single piece. It would enchant better than normal armours but not quite to the extent that pure gold equipment does.
