Petition to Revert Toggle Sneak Change MC-163218

The ability to open containers while remaining crouched has been considered a feature by the community since Toggle Sneak was added back in 1.15. It has remained in the game for nearly 6 years, and in that time has become essential to some play styles. The feature is available to all players, so it's not an unfair advantage.

For instance, the Trapping community, who uses it to remain hidden while building traps underground in PVP scenarios. It's used for really just any PVP scenario where one would have to sneak around. Or even just to remain hidden in your secret base on your friends world.

This change retroactively nerfs this for seemingly no reason, it doesn't positively affect gameplay. Please don't implement this change.

    This "fix" will absolutly destroy hiddes bases on multiplayer so please revert this change

    I honestly think you don't have to remove it.
    It's real fun to create traps and secret bases.
    Removing this bug will undo any of that fun.

    this has already killed me because i unsneaked off a ledge with a tiny bit of momentum. it doesn't feel dynamic to play with at all like this

    When I started playing Minecraft, I took it as a feature and didn't even consider that it could be a bug. I think it should be reverted, since most players now consider it a feature.

    This feature is not only useful when you re making traps or hidden bases but also when you want to build a farm in which you need to sneak often, like for exemple when you do a gold farm with magma it allows you to open your inventory to change your hotbar while staying sneak on the magma.

    I would like this reverted because the camera bounce going in and out of inventories while sneaking is very annoying. While building I'll be sneaking to avoid falling off walls, then opening shulker boxes to get materials, and the constant bobbing is frustrating.

    We need this back. If you are really worried about the disparity between hold and toggle sneak, then allow players to hold sneak while in menus or something.

    I think most could agree that this "bug" was more like a great quality of life feature, any chance you have to improve the communities experience playing Minecraft, please do so Mojang, but removing this "bug" is not one of those ways.

    I didn't know this was going to be a change in the newest snapshot. The multiplayer server I play on updated to 1.21.10 and it has a massive inpact.

    There are 10s of thousands of Minecraft players who play on multiplayer servers known as semi-anarchy. It's a server that has no rules within the normal minecraft gameplay, only rule is players are not allowed to hack or use clients, and most of these servers try to maintain as vanilla of a server environment as possible. 

    This change completely upends one of the most important aspects of this gameplay and style, in that toggle crouch and staying crouched keeps you hidden from other players. Both while afk at farms and while sneaking around spawn, where players are constantly monitoring for a player to stop crouching and a nametag to show. 

    There is no obvious benefit to the update. There is a SIGNIFICANT benefit to leaving that feature the way it was. How is it that with something this unique and thousands of players signing a petition Mojang has done nothing...

    I've fallen off so many ledges (and died!) while mining and building since this changed. Real shame. Was really nice for maneuvering under deep stretches of water too. Deeply disappointed in this change, and I agree with others that it is a step back in actual accessibility.
