When 25w31a came out, the concept of spawn chunks was removed. This broke many player-made farms that relied on it.
To fix this, there should be 2 game rules:
- allowSpawnChunks, which controls if the spawn chunks can exist or not, defaults to true on higher-end devices and defaults to false on lower-end devices.
-
checkForForceLoadedChunks, which controls if the game will ensure that the following chunks are fully loaded before the player joins or the server starts, in the same way as spawn chunks:
- Chunks loaded by the forceload command
- Chunks active due to portal activity
- Ender Pearls thrown in Singleplayer (Singleplayer only)
- The small area of chunks around the player (Singleplayer only)
- Chunks required to assign the global world spawn (World creation only)
