There is a design inconsistency in how hostile mobs interact with Villagers and Iron Golems. Zombies and Illagers attack Villagers on sight. Iron Golems are attacked by those mobs, but also by others: Skeletons, Spiders, Slimes, Magma Cubes, the Breeze, and (in Bedrock) Witches and Silverfish.
Iron Golems are canonically tied to Villagers — lore-wise, they are created by them, and Villagers can even summon Golems when threatened. If these mobs attack the creation, why wouldn’t they attack the creators?
This also contradicts Minecraft media, like the Movie, where hostile mobs are shown as a universal threat to Villagers. That doesn’t reflect the actual game. It’s inconsistent both from a game design perspective and with the lore.
I’m not saying that all mobs should target Villagers — only those that already attack Iron Golems. So Creepers are still their friends, yay! This wouldn’t make defense harder, since Villagers hide at night and farms are usually lit. At most, it just adds more reason to protect them. As for Superflat, slime chunks could be reduced to keep balance.
