Hello! I have an idea that princibaly goes along with the proposed villager changes, but could apply without.
I would like villagers to be able to learn the trades of their neighbors in some way, so you can create Prestige Villagers and, if/when the changes come, you can train up a mending villager with whatever biome look you want, but only after you've made a mending villager first.
The way I have to design this may not be perfect, but this is a glimps at what such a system could look like: Upon a villager ranking up when traded with enough, they search for other villagers of the same profeison within X blocks of them, lets say 10. Each villager that shares a profession now has a small chance, lets say 10% to randomly donate a trade to replace one that the villager would have learnt.
So, I wanna make a perfect paper trader. I get a buncha villagers that can trade paper and level up a new villager next to them. They get 1 or 2 bonus paper trades, and now I can repeat that process, replacing a villager with this new one. Over time I can get villagers that ONLY have paper trades, perfect for my paper farm!
