Unique versions of crops grown underground

Why not have crops grow into special variants of normal ones when you plant them in the deep dark; potentially grown under the spooky light of Soul Fire torches or lanterns. Wheat would become Dusk Wheat, Potatoes would be Umbral Potaters [sic], Sweet Berry bushes would produce Gloom Berries. Eating them raw or cooked would confer Night Vision; lingering longer if cooked.
