Canyons for Desert or badlands biomes

The Grand Canyon can be an extension of the Badlanda or desert biomes. It would feature a highland, and large rift or canyon carving a channel in the land. A small river can exist at the base of the ravine. The land generation should code for beautiful and interesting geology features like arches, shelves, and the like.
