At the moment no one will use copper armour so I propose…
"gear gadgets", crafted using a copper block and amethyst (or diamond), once found in trial chambers they are duplicated like an armour trim, each providing simple abilities when attached to specific armor pieces.
Mobility Gadgets:
Saddle (Leggings): Ride mobs without saddle
Piston (Boots): High jump
TNT (Boots): Shockwave upon taking fall damage
Slime Block (Boots): Bounce on first ground impact
Honey Block (Chestplate): Slow fall when hugging walls
Phantom Membrane (Boots): Works like Elytra at night
Utility Gadgets:
Shulker/Chest/Barrel (Leggings): +9 inventory slots
Copper Tool (Chestplate): Auto-switch copper tools in inventory
Brush (Helmet): Highlights suspicious blocks
Glow Ink Sac (Boots): Leaves glowing footprints
Combat Gadgets:
Shield (Chestplate): Blocks rear attacks
Gold Block (Leggings): Prevents Piglin aggression
Minecart (Leggings): Ride rails without minecarts
Environmental Gadgets:
Wool (Chestplate): Freezing protection
Moss Block (Chestplate): Heal on moss
Lapis Block (Helmet): XP boost up to +40%
Coral Block (Chestplate): Attracts friendly aquatic mobs
Emerald Block (Chestplate): Better trade prices
Crab Claw? (Chestplate): Extends reach by up to 5 blocks
Gameplay Rules:
Unenchantable with low durability
Lightning fully fixes durability
Gear can be fixed with copper ingots when it breaks instead of just disappearing
