Weren't Copper Golems supposed to turn into statues when fully oxidized? It's just weird watching them walk around all gleefully while completely oxidized. They should get progressively slower as they oxidize, until becoming very slow, but not immobile when reaching the final oxidation stage. That way, waxing them could help a lot to have a better management of the copper golems.
However, you can make them oxidized from the start, right? Perhaps, you could add a priority somehow, so they follow a specific order? They should target clean copper chests first, and then leave the rusty ones for last. The golems themselves would work like that too; They would wait for other, less rusty golems to finish their storage work, and they would do the job for last. Also, as a fun animation detail, rusted golems would have lazy and sleepy animations. That way, waxing golems will finally be something you have to do if you want an optimum storage management.
