Tools/Gear Progression Rebalancing (Now that Copper gear is here)

Now that copper gear is here I think it would be good to change how players progress through the tiers of gear (wood -> stone -> copper…). The copper gear is cool but it isn’t a necessary step and one can still go from wood to stone to iron in about 5 minutes. I feel like there should be limitations to being able to access the next tier of material. Whether needing certain furnace to smelt or making certain ores rarer. I like the copper gear but it seems like it would be skipped more often than not. And the same with the lower tiers; we just use them to quickly get the higher tiers then never really use them again. I feel like something to slow down the progression would be nice. And maybe if everyone isn’t happy with a slow progression then it could be a toggle when creating a world (choose current progression or a new progression style).

    A possible idea is to make the blast furnace craftable with copper instead of iron and make it required for smelting iron ore and above. It would make sense because copper is good at transferring heat, which is why we use it in mechanics.
