Found enchantment books should have compatible weapon enchantments

I currently have an enchantment book with SILK TOUCH, power iii, and lure i. Here's the problem: Power III is for BOWS. Lure I is for FISHING RODS. I wanted to do a silk touch pickaxe but this isn't going to work. Maybe depending what you apply it on in the anvil, it only applies the effects that can be lent to that item. If I put it on a pickaxe, just please give it silk touch. Thanks. I'm very sad now!!
