The Redstone Fader is a new redstone item, similar to a repeater or comparator, placed on surfaces and oriented like existing redstone components. It introduces smooth signal transitions depending on its selected mode, making it useful for both technical and aesthetic builds.
It has two toggleable modes, switched with a rightclick, or a signal input coming from either right or left sides:
1. Fade-In Mode: When powered, it gradually increases its output signal strength until it matches the input. When the input turns off, the output drops instantly to 0.
*If either instantly turns off when the input is unpowered, or first has to match the input energy before turning off, is up to you mojang.*
Useful for slow activations or buildup effects
2. Fade-Out Mode: While powered, it outputs the same signal strength as the input. When the input stops, it gradually decreases the output until it reaches 0. Ideal for soft shutdowns, lighting effects, or signal trails.
Visual indicators (such as small LEDs or subtle textures) can represent the current mode and fade speed.
Using rightclick+shift you could change the timing of the fading in the same 4 speeds of the repeator.
Use Cases: Gradual light or sound effects, smooth redstone timing transitions, immersive redstone animations, compact pulse shaping, and elegant delay logic.
The Redstone Fader offers an intuitive and flexible option for players seeking more control over redstone signal behavior.
