I’ve been testing with the copper golems in the latest bedrock preview for the last few hours and have noticed some common problems.
First off copper golems can on reach up to two chests high. I understand that the golems aren’t very tall so therefore it makes sense it can’t reach that high. But for most practical builds that the golem would likely be used for, it needs to reach higher. Most storage buildings(which is where I can image most people want to use them) have chests that go much higher than just two. Most tend to go up to about 4-5 chests high.
Another problem I’ve been having is that if they can’t find where to put the item. They essentially just search for ever with no end in sight. I’ve put them in a room with chests on two sides of the room. They are about 10 blocks away from each other. And once they pick an item that isn’t on one side of the wall of chests, they just search in those same chests on that same side forever. They never try and look at other chests on the other side of the room. I think that they should have a better and expanded search radius.
Also for some reason one of the golems has been search for over an hour to put this item away, and the chest it belongs to is literally in front of its face. For some reason it has never tried to open that chest. There is nothing blocking the chest and it can open just fine by a player. Now it’s just standing there doing its cute animations but isn’t moving around trying to find a place for the item.
