I really believe that this feature could help make randomized contraptions more compact and controlled.

This is actually such a cool idea!

And it gives the player the option for lit up eyes or darker eyes to keep them in their house as just a pet or something. Not just as a machine.

Yes! I would love to see this functionality added. I personally loved the original concept for the copper golem to a degree, specifically I loved that it would interact with the world through copper buttons but I didn't like the randomization aspect of it. I think that having a set speed for when a copper golem would perform the task would be an excellent addition.

And then for those that DO want the randomization of a crazy copper golem pressing buttons I think a cool idea would be to super charge them with a lightning strike. For this a player would need to deliberately move or set up some scenario for the golem to be struck by lightning similar to a super charged creeper. Redstoners would go wild for these additions to the copper golem, they can choose to either have a set timer or randomized chaos.

Perhaps this is used to make the sorter mode faster as well. Overall though, I personally love both the original concept of the copper golem, and the idea being presented here, along with the new concept for sorting chests and would love for both to be implemented in the game!

This desperately needs to be upvoted. I know that the new sorting feature for the copper golem will be popular with casual and survival players, and it's a great feature, but the reason why the copper golem was so immensely popular in the first place was it's initial redstone mechanic.

Anyone who has used things like chicken randomisers etc knows how unreliable they are. Having an AI in the game that's purposeful towards making this happen would be such a positive game changer for the buildstone community and also survival minigame creators. Mojang please don't ignore these other parts of your community!

If this little guy isn't given the feature his fanbase supported him on, I'll always have a twinge of sadness when I see him in my survival worlds.
