Title: Add-On Expansion for Symbolic Storytelling & Therapeutic Gameplay
Hi, I’m Madison Leigh Johnston, a long-time Minecraft fan and therapeutic gameplay designer. I’ve played since elementary school, and now I use Minecraft to build Story Brook—a symbolic world where players explore emotional growth, healing, and voice archetypes through immersive storytelling.
I work from home due to a learning disability and live under the care of my guardian. I teach crochet, write AI music and stories, and use Minecraft as a tool for emotional literacy. I’ve also founded Heart of Hollow Wild Grove, a studio focused on therapeutic world-building.
To support creators like me, I’m asking for expanded add-on features:
Feature Requests with Implementation Suggestions
-
Custom UI Support JSON-based UI definitions for journals, codices, and ritual interfaces.
-
Expanded NPC Behavior Persistent memory tags, conditional dialogue, and triggered animations.
-
Symbolic Item Scripting NBT-based item transformations, emotional triggers, and dynamic lore.
-
World-State Variables Emotional states (e.g., “grief = true”) that affect lighting, weather, and NPC behavior.
-
Expanded Food Add-On Support Custom food with effects, lore, and ritual integration.
-
Enhanced Custom NPC Tools More skin options, animations, idle behaviors, and symbolic roles.
Minecraft is already a powerful creative tool. With these features, it could become a platform for emotional healing and meaningful storytelling. Thank you for considering this.
Warmly, Madison Leigh Johnston Builder of Story Brook
