the BlunderSpud, a new (rare) ranged weapon

the "blunderspud" (potato blunderbuss) is a weapon inspired by the "potato gun / tater tot launcher" seen in the minecraft movie

it pretty much would be a simmilar weapon  to the tater tot launcher

how it would work:

blunderspud will shoot potatoes not only it will fire potatoes it will shoot multiple potatoes in a large randomized spread (unlike the crossbow enchanted with multishot which shots multiple arrows in a small non-randomized spread)

also knowing that the blunderspud shoots multiple potatoes the damage it deals will depend on the amount of potatoes that will hit you making the blunderspud work like a shotgun (also each potato fired from the  blunderspud will deal 3 damage so if get hit with 5 potatoes you lose 75% of your health)

also the blunderspud could fire up to 15 potatoes

in order for it to shot you'l also need a new type of powder called "tater-powder" which you can craft with 5 pieces of gunpowder and 4 poisonous potatoes

loading it:

reloading the blunderspud would pretty much feel like hell because you will need atleast 1 "tater-powder" and 1-15 potatoes also the reload would be long and also in order to reload you need to stand still

the design:

the blunderspud will look like a blunderbuss but with a green/yellow color pallete

the problems:

heres some problems related to the addition of this weapon

-hard to balance (it would either be to OP or to TRASH)

-probably will never be added because its a "gun-like weapon" and mojang is against adding guns to vannila minecraft
