Currently, the type of mineral blocks a beacon pyramid is made of and the item that is "fed" to the beacon to activate it have no effect on the beacon's effect on the player. I propose a change to this mechanic. New beacon "foods" are added, being increasingly expensive (Enchanted Golden Apples, Nether Stars, etc.) However, the beacon can only use these if it is built wholly of a certain material or better. Better is defined as: Netherite is superior to Diamond is superior to Gold is superior to Emerald is superior to Iron. All of these features require a full 4-level pyramid.
Details:
Enchanted Golden Apple (requires Diamond and Better Beacon). This provides the effects of an Enchanted Golden Apple within the beacon's radius; however, Absorption IV is only reapplied every 30 seconds, keeping this from being overly overpowered.
Nether Star (requires Diamond and Better Beacon). This affects any hostile mob in the beacon's radius with the Wither I effect (reapplied every 4 seconds infinitely). It also gives the player the ability to summon an explosion around them equal to a wither spawn explosion that they take no damage from; this ability has a five minute cool down after use before it can be used again. Additionally, it gives the player immunity to negative status effects in the beacon's radius other than Instant Damage, like the Wither boss. This is given to the player as a new status effect: Immunity.
