Requesting Mojang to add a new JSON field for Minecraft Bedrock Edition's vibrant visual shadows to natively customize the ambient shadow hue/color independently from the biome’s sky_color in custom vibrant visuals resource packs. Currently, the best booking way to influence shadow color is by modifying the sky_color field in biome JSONs, which alters the non vibrant visuals sky, disrupting base visuals and introducing unwanted side effects. There is a partial workaround using color_grading files to apply post-processing that affects overall color tone, including shadows, but it lacks precision and visual quality. While color_grading can produce a broad mood, it rarely looks as good as simply changing the biome’s sky_color, and results in oversaturation or unnatural hues which can never be truly corrected.
By untying shadow coloration from biome skies—using a dedicated field such as ambient_light_color or shadow_color—creators would gain precise control of shadow colors without needing to change non vibrant visuals sky colors or interfering with base game visuals to get it to look right. This would enable richer cinematic lighting and stylized tones.
Ideally, this setting could live in a file such as shadows/global.json. or similar existing files. This small addition would have a big impact on creators making a custom shader pack for vibrant visuals.
