Won't buy Switch edition until its clear if there will be an Update with vibrant visuals or if I have to buy a new Switch 2 edition.

Sadly nowadays (especially with Nintendo) both options are very possible.

I really like the idea of playing minecraft with Shaders/Vibrant visuals on the go and on my new Console but until then I'll stick to Java edition on PC.

I wholeheartedly support this. If this doesn't happen, it will have been for a very scummy reason like a lack of interest in making a dedicated Switch 2 Minecraft port.

It doesn’t make sense why they can’t just give the switch 2 vibrant visuals already, it can absolutely run it fine

I would love for vibrant visuals to come to the Switch 2. Being able to up the view distance would suffice.

Dude even the switch lite can handle this, if the switch lite and switch 1 can handle 10000 tnt, they can handle vibrant visuals, at least the performance preset.

Please add this, plus support for Joy-Con 2 mouse mode, improved render distance, 1080p display for interfaces instead of 720p, and ray tracing, which is supported by the Switch 2.

Is mojang even seeing this post, they haven’t said ANYTHING about vibrant visuals for the switch 2, they haven’t even said if they are going to do it or not.

Nintendo hasn't been sending out very many devkits. Maybe Nintendo thinks Microsoft is not worthy of devkits... NINTENDO CAN'T MAKE GOOD DECISIONS FOR SOME REASON...

If this is why then Microsoft should use this as an opportunity to openly insult Nintendo.

I know that many people think that the only absolutely evil company that will never do something good for their users is Nintendo, but it's pretty obvious that whatever will happen with visual vibrants or mouse support in Switch 2 it will only happen if Mojang and Microsoft want to do it.

How can some people think that there's a flawless port of Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch but "Nintendo is obviously against better Minecraft"? Just keep the focus on supporting and trying to get an answer from Mojang, Xbox or Microsoft, if you want to rage online about another company you can use Twitter or Reddit. Dear god.

Also yes, I support the idea.

I don’t even care that the switch 2 gets vibrant visuals, I just want a dedicated version for the switch 2

Was hoping we'd hear something today during Minecraft Live, but nothing yet. Hopefully we can get at least an acknowledgement of them working on a Switch 2 edition that supports Vibrant Visuals.

I think that vibrant visuals gives Minecraft that sort of beautiful yet simplistic feeling that the game used to have, and as a Nintendo player please make it better than the average mobile game.

Surprised? No. I have the deep feeling they might be doing it in favor of the Asus Xbox alley. Don't know if they legally can do that, but it is not nice.

But now that verry recent Microsoft has stepped out of the console wars , maybe they will als review this decision again and gather there programmers and make them proud by adding the vibrant colours for the switch 2!

Yes, its super infuriating that the switch 2 hasn't gotten a dedicated edition of Minecraft yet, I feel like that should be higher on the priority list.

Vibrant Visuals Missing on Switch 2 – A Disgrace
Vibrant Visuals delivers stunning Minecraft upgrades—volumetric fog, directional lighting, enhanced water—standard on Xbox, PS5, and high-end PCs. Yet months after launch, Nintendo Switch 2 gets nothing. The community is furious: nearly 300 upvotes and dozens of comments demand a dedicated Switch 2 edition with Vibrant Visuals, higher render distance, and Joy-Con mouse mode. The hardware can handle it—original Switch runs Cyberpunk 2077 and 10,000 TNT explosions. No technical barrier exists.
So why the silence? Microsoft holds the answer. As Mojang’s owner, they prioritize Xbox and PC to funnel players into their ecosystem. Nintendo is a direct rival. Why invest in enhancing a competitor’s platform? Better to leave Switch users with outdated visuals—or push them to buy an Xbox. Negotiations with Nintendo likely stall over licensing, costs, or cold corporate strategy.
In 2025, this exclusion is outrageous. Minecraft thrives on cross-play and accessibility. Instead, an entire device family is locked out of core upgrades—not because it can’t run them, but due to corporate rivalry. It’s anti-player, anti-community, and a betrayal of Minecraft’s spirit. Switch 2 deserves Vibrant Visuals now.
