Another idea I have for Hardcore Minecraft is unique bosses and difficulty scaling.
Unique bosses and difficulty scaling:
- One thing that Minecraft lacks that Minecraft Dungeons has an abundance of is a plethora of unique bosses.
- It would be awesome to see some of the Dungeons bosses get added to the game, or even completely new bosses altogether.
- New game mechanics for current/future bosses, enough damage per hit to punish players for being careless, even if they have the best armor in the game.
- Enchanted mobs in Dungeons was a really cool idea and it would be amazing to see modifiers like that applied to every boss fight, and changes each time you engage the boss.
Mob difficulty scaling:
- Hardcore should be an unforgiving mode, but also rewarding to play, should you master the art of Minecraft combat.
- From the moment you spawn into the world, you should feel the pressure to get prepared for your first night.
- The hostile mobs should be tanky and take a while to defeat, causing you to be more cautious when engaging in battle.
- Naturally, as you progress and get higher tier gear, the lower level mobs will get easier to defeat, but there should be mid-level mods and mini bosses that still put the player in check, if they are not careful (much like the vindicators and evokers, but tankier and more lethal).
Keeping these shorter than I'd like to, due to the 1500 character limit, but I am of course open to suggestions on how we could improve this system further.
