Being able to craft a baby ghast is a weird and unbalanced feature for multiple reasons. It just does not make sence.
1: Being able to craft a baby, living creature, makes no sense as a feature, it feels out of place.
2: It does not encourage exploration. If you can just craft a ghast, you won't have to go find a soulsand valley, soulsand can be traded from piglins and found in fortresses, and random patches in the nether, everywhere, including the ancient cities. And ghast tears can be found immediately by killing ghasts in any biome of the nether.
3: being able to craft this flying mount is very unintuitive. being able to craft this mount completely overrides exploration via trading with piglins or finding them in soulsand valleys.
4: It removes the reward. Finding a dehydrated ghast should be a reward, you get a very powerful, flying mount in return! This should be an experience for the player, you don't get this experience from crafting it. that is too easy.
Instead.
You should be able to breed happy ghasts to get more ghastlings, this makes sence. It is more interesting and intuitive. Ghasts are animals, baby ghasts exist, why craft them like an item? You can not craft cows from beef and leather.
Breeding ghasts encourages exploration as you will have to locate two dehydrated ghasts first in order to have access to infinite ghasts for you and all your friends.
Just remove the crafting recipe, everything else is perfect for minecraft gameplay.
