Dear everyone,
I hope you're doing well. This email is concerning Mojang's Minecraft video game.
I wanted to share an idea for a new version of Minecraft built using Python—not for educational or modding purposes, but as a fully playable, gaming-focused edition, similar to Java and Bedrock.
Python has grown massively in popularity and has matured enough, with libraries and performance tools (like Pygame, PyOpenGL, and Cython), to support game development. A Python-based Minecraft could open up new possibilities for cross-platform gaming, experimentation, and faster prototyping while keeping the Minecraft experience familiar.
This version could appeal to both developers and players who prefer the simplicity and flexibility of Python. It could also provide an alternative to the current engine styles while staying true to the core gameplay.
I’d love to know what you guys think of this idea and whether a Python Minecraft could ever be explored officially.
Thank you for looking at this post.
