Minecraft Bedrock Edition is already optimized to run smoothly on many platforms, but it currently has a 60 FPS cap, even on devices capable of much higher performance. New-generation consoles like the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, as well as many modern PCs, fully support 120 Hz displays and could run Minecraft at 120 FPS with ease.
Reasons to add 120 FPS support in Bedrock Edition:
• Improved visual experience: Higher framerates make movement feel smoother and more natural, enhancing the overall gameplay—especially when exploring, building, or flying at high speeds.
• Gameplay advantage: For competitive players, especially in multiplayer or PvP, higher FPS can result in more responsive controls and better performance.
• Modern hardware supports it: Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and most modern TVs and monitors support 120 Hz. Many games—including Microsoft’s own titles—already utilize this. Minecraft should take advantage of the same potential.
• Bedrock already performs well: Bedrock Edition is known for its efficiency and smooth performance. With slight optimization or a toggle in the video settings, 120 FPS support could be implemented without sacrificing stability.
Please consider adding 120 FPS support as an optional feature for players who have compatible hardware. It would be a huge quality-of-life improvement and make Minecraft feel even better on modern systems.
Thank you!
