Why Add Reeds?
I think Reeds would really help make water lakes and rivers pop out, and can be extremely useful! Thatching with Reeds is ubiquitous in medieval life and architecture, and thatch would be extremely useful in builds and mapmaking.
Why Add Brooms?
I think Brooms would be a really handy use for Reed Plants (and thus Thatch), and would solve a current problem in that it is really difficult to pick up specific dropped items, and even moreso to move them around. Having a dedicated tool would be super useful! It could also help make Villages feel more alive.
Reed Plants
Reed Plants grow in temperate and warm Water Lakes and Rivers on Sand and Dirt in water 1 or 2 blocks deep. Combine Reed (item) with String to make Thatch Block.
Use Thatch Blocks to make Thatch Roofing, used for decor, or to make a Broom (2 sticks, 1 Thatch Block).
Broom - Useful For Moving Dropped Items
A Broom is a handheld tool that when held, prevents the Player from picking up items on the ground, and can move items on the ground around. Left-click when holding a Broom to pick up a specific dropped item, even from a further distance from normal. Hold while right-clicking to immediately pick up all items in your vicinity. A Broom can also move Snow and Leaf Litter on the ground without needing to mine it. Maybe Villagers can be seen sweeping Villages in their free time?
