Spruce trees in real life do not have traditional leaves; they have needles. The design on Minecraft spruce trees also do not resemble leaves, but rather the needles of real-life spruce trees. I think that the name should thus be changed to better reflect the tree (Spruce Leaf Block -> Spruce Needle Block)
Likewise, I also suggest that orangish Pine Litter accumulates around Spruce Trees in the place of Leaf Litter (called Pine Litter so as not to confuse it with real-life "needle litter"...), and pine needle particles fall in the place of the current leaf particle.
