Why add the Pebble Beach Biome?
Not all beaches are sandy, and thousands upon thousands around the world are made up entirely of rounded pebbles. While Minecraft already has a Stony Shore, this is more of a rocky outcropping alongside an Ocean. I think a beach biome proper made of pebbles would be a cool and fun addition to Minecraft's biomes, and could have lots of potential for tie-ins to existing and future features added by Mojang. I also think a dedicated Pebble Block would help differentiate these visually from Gravelly hills, with the implication that these rocks have been smoothed by the Ocean waves. They also form with tide pools, which could be made very exciting!
Pebble Beach Biome
The Pebble Beach Biome is made up of Pebble Blocks, a gravity-affected iridescent block that drops Pebbles and Seaglass Chunks when mined, and very rarely gems like Prismarine Shards, Lapis Lazuli and Amethyst. Pebbles can be stacked to make Pebble Piles, or combined to make Cobblestone. Seaglass Chunks can be combined to make Seaglass Blocks, a translucent block that resembles frosted glass in real life. Throwing a Pebble will cause it to skip on the water. Pebble Blocks may be covered with slippery seaweed that make Players slide like they are on ice.
Pebble Beach Biomes generate with Tidepools, filled with shallow water and Seagrass. Ocean fish will spawn in these waters. Perhaps flower-like Sea Anemones spawn here as well, harming fish that pass through?
